Yoga_01a_200What is Yogalates?

Yogalates will help you achieve a streamlined, leaner and more flexible body whilst enhancing spinal alignment and correct posture. The class fuses pilates and yoga exercises to improve core stability and achieve longer leaner muscles.

What to expect

A regular Yogalates session will include exercises and yoga poses to cultivate strength, stamina, stability and flexibility with particular attention paid to building tone in the deeper postural “core stability” muscles. Your "core" is the band of muscles that wrap around the middle of your body similar to a corset or belt. These protect the spine against injury, support the internal organs and foster pelvic and spinal awareness to promote good posture.

The class is taught to music and has a guided relaxation at the end to leave you feeling relaxed, calm and centred.

What to wear

When attending a class we recommend that you wear comfortable clothing like you would when going to the gym. No jeans or trousers with belts, buttons or zips. We also advise wearing clothing that enables you to see the contours of your body; as correct postural alignment is a key factor. Therefore very baggy clothing may hinder your workout. Barefoot is recommended as this provides more grip on the mat for standing poses. No shoes are allowed.
